David Black has owned ShadowCounsel since 2005. Prior to his present work, Dave was a senior intellectual property paralegal and electronic evidence liaison at the Silicon Valley offices of Cooley Godward LLP (now Cooley LLP) and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper).  Dave was also project manager at OnPoint Analytics, a small Bay Area firm specializing in data analysis for testifying economists in high-stakes litigation, and taught at a San Francisco middle school as a young man.
 

Dave graduated with BA in Political Science from the University of California at San Diego and earned a California state public school teaching credential from the University of San Francisco.  He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, son, rambunctious dogs Bob and Gerry (with a "G") and a pompous, self-absorbed cat called Dakota.
